Phillip Marshall Loveland has recently been accepted by Certified Practising Accounts of Australia as a Fellow.
This fellowship is a representation of Phil's years of experience in his field.
I am sure many of you would agree that this has been well earned through his dedication to his craft.

POWER OUTAGE at Taxation Strategies & Accounting Services (Formerly Loveland & Associates)

On Monday morning Phil received an early morning phone call to advise that smoke was coming from our Westminster offices. Phil phoned the Fire Brigade and attended our offices to discover that the Main Building power circuitry had burned and cut power to all 29 units in the complex.

Power was finally restored at 16.00 Hrs.

As a result of this power outage our phone systems and computers did not work.

If you had attempted to phone or email our offices since about Thursday of last week I recommend that you now phone again and also retransmit any emails you might have sent since Thursday to ensure that we are aware of any contact you might have made to cover just before and during the power outage.

We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused.

We we wish to advise some recent changes to our Practice!

Phil Loveland has been Practising now for over 20 years under various Practice names including -- "Loveland & Associates" since 1995.

Phil has worked extremely long hours for all of that time. Phil now recognises the need to begin a transition from such long hours to shorter hours over the next five years and particularly after he reaches 55 years of age in 2012.

In order to help achieve Phil's goals we have commenced trading under the business name -- "Taxation Strategies & Accounting Services".

We recognise Phil's specific philosophies and priorities in this new name.

After 30 years involved in taxation - firstly as an Australian Taxation Investigator and secondly as a Public Practitioner – Phil clearly understands that you need a taxation strategy and that any taxation strategy adopted should involve wealth creation as a priority.

While we will obviously continue to provide taxation and accounting services, as previously, you will soon discover that the Practice has been restructured to enable Phil's time to be better allocated to addressing your current and future taxation strategies.

Essentially this will mean that Phil will give a degree of priority to those of you requiring a taxation strategy and the preparation of a taxation return.

For those of you requiring the preparation of a tax return without the immediate need for any specific additional business advice or tax advice or tax strategy during the course of preparation of your 2007 tax return we respectfully ask that you seek a booking with either Michelle or Michael Chang as an option before automatically making a booking to see Phil.

We have restructured the Practice by providing more staff to handle the routine annual tax return preparation so that Phil can concentrate his limited time to work on taxation strategies for you.

We would therefore sincerely appreciate your understanding and co-operation as we work towards Phil's goal of reducing his time devoted to basic income tax return preparation so that he can assist you with advising you in relation to taxation strategies for your long term financial benefit.

We therefore ask that when you contact our new Practice on the unchanged phone number of (08) 93455200 that you indicate whether or not you will be requiring any taxation or business advice or any taxation strategy rather than simply the preparation of a routine tax return so that our Secretary can make the appropriate booking to satisfy your specific requirement.

Our new Secretary (Lisa Canzurlo) has only recently joined our team and we ask that you contact her initially to make any future bookings. If you feel that your requirements go beyond the basic need to complete an annual income tax return we ask that you make contact with Ben Loveland so that a booking can be made with Phil for the appropriate duration to appropriately deal with any taxation strategy or business advice you might require.

It is Phil's intention never to retire, but to slowly reduce his work commitments over the next five years so that he can continue to provide professional and thorough taxation advice on a reduced basis during the years 2012 onwards as a tax consultant to the Practice.

Our recent change of Practice name will result in new email addresses. We will advise these to you as they are established.

Our phone number, fax number, email addresses and address all remain unchanged at this stage. We ask that you place this correspondence with your taxation records so that you might refer to it when needed.

We will remain in the telephone book under "Loveland & Associates" for some time until the transition to "Taxation Strategies & Accounting Services" is fully effective.
